Our Planet Centre
Our Planet Centre (La Place Carenage, Jeremie Street, Castries) — this two-level Centre with nearly 1,400 m2 offers visitors a 1.5 hour tour through 11 different “spaces” including: a view of our planet’s past in the twin giant screens of the immersion zone, complete with ice ages, dinosaurs and the arrival of man; a chance to see the Earth as astronauts do using the NOAA/NASA Science on a Sphere, a 3D reproduction of our planet in space showing real time weather, earthquakes and other natural phenomena; a glimpse into the future with our Special Effects Theatre where visitors could experience a hurricane, a tsunami and much more; the largest mirrorsphere in the world giving a kaleidoscopic view of life on Earth; opportunities to “programme” hurricanes, “save” islands, choose the energy sources of the future, protect iguanas and turtles in specially designed large touch screen games; interactive exhibits like our interactive globe and interactive floor; life size holographic welcome speeches from HRH Prince Charles and the Governor General of Saint Lucia.
